Sand Cement

Hi all & Merry Christmas, just a quick one, can you tile straight onto sand cement plastering (not skimmed) without any prep? I know its Chrimbo but the question came up in the pub earlier.:8:

Hi yeh you will need a good bag adhesive mosaic fix if thers enough in the budget and i would seal/prime with something like bal adp (to limit absorbtion and consolidate surface dust/sand)

you cant get a better substrate , good old sand and cement

No idea why you would want mosaic fix for this ?
