Saving grace

Had to join as I was locked out from reading posts to often! Best advice online!!! Currently laying stone tiles on plywood flooring and walls (after removing the PVA as advised by someone else) using keraflex for the floor and keraquick with latex! Could any one advise what the S1 and. S2 refer to!!

S1 and S2 are the flexibilty properties of your adhesive, in short an S2 is usually mixed with latex to provide a more flexible adhesive.

Cheers guys, have got the flexible additive x2 not cheap but don't want them falling off!! Read too many different forums and got a little paranoid! Seems to be too many folk out there with conflicting opinions, as a diyer I like to learn and get the right info! This site is pretty good.

I'm also assuming having 300x600x10mm porcelain tiles for the wall, it's best to run 10mm beads with the spreader?!

You will find that the advice given by the pros on this site will rarely differ, we all work to British standards and do things one way, the right way

S2 is a flexible adhesive which is highly deformable and suitable for tiling direct to wooden substrates with or without overlays if suitable.

Not sure what you mean here.

Do you mean to use a 10mm trowel?

Skim the back of the tiles with the flat side of the trowel too. This will give you a much better bond.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Just curious but are you installing these tiles in a brick bond effect?

Thought about it but no, side on, one directly on another, working from one wall to another,The adhesive I'm using goes off quick so by the time I do another run it's solid, no battons required!
