sbr slurry?

Hi folks ; )
Have a kitchen floor to do where they had a carpet for 15 years glued to the concrete, foam backed.
Have scraped all the foam up, but the adhesive is solid, and i mean solid to the concrete. Any bits that have come up have lifted the conrete surface!
On discussing procedure with adhesive manufacturer they said apply an SBR slurry (sbr mixed with cement).
Not had to do this before, so am thinking I should:

prime floor
mix sbr with rapid cement (or will it cure by next day with normal cement anyway)
apply thin layer with brush or roller
allow to dry (quicker with rapid?)
next day - prime (?) and tile


Is this right?

No priming. Sbr slurry is the primer

Alternatively , Mapei now do Eco - prim grip. Excellent product.

PHG Wetrooms sell it as a primer for plastic type trays, but is also suitable for your job.

It will dry quicker than that.

Brindle we dilut the SBR as per makers rec,then use OPC ordinary portland cement to the liquid and at the same time whisk with a small whisk until you have the viscosity you want

I've always mixed it undiluted to make a slurry.

I always do it 50/50 sbr/powder.

So same as you doug.

it depends on which manufacture of SBR you buy, they are all different strengths ! this mainly accounts for the difference in price from expensive -to cheaper they come pre-diluted by the suppliers dearer one's tend to be more concentrated and the cheaper end more dilute i have been using SBR for the best part of 30 years ,as we needed to bond screeds with this form of slurry ,instead of PVA donkeys years ago :smilewinkgrin:

Bal Sbr is 50/50.. Dave you saying Bal is Cheap :lol:...
