Dumbo

hi gents,

Was shown this in my tiling supplier the other day was impressed with it. Any of you use it? is it better to use after ive done my final Silicon sealing around a bath/shower or before?

many thanks

ted

Yes i've used it before, on a bathroom walls and floor, only had one window so i was as high as a kite after application:lol: I don't know if it worked at that job, white grout on both wall and floor so i'm not sure if it will. However i've used it on my own kitchen floor, i've used beige grout and it's absolutely filthy, so i'm not sure it's as good as it's made out to be.
Oh and it's best to use it at the end of the job:thumbsup:

thanks mike,

Think i will give it a try looked good at the demo i had like you said though how long does it last? One other thing do you mask off and have to cover the bath/ shower ?

I didn't mate, it's not supposed to leave any trace on the tiles, so i would think the bath/shower should be ok.

i have used it for a few months now.i charge between £10 and £20 a shot so a can makes me £100.It seems easier to convince customers with instead of tanking.Plus the smell keeps the customer away from the finished product until i have my money and am 5 miles down the road, only kidding!!!!

Hi

I have used this - yes it really stinks - acetone ( pear drop city) but it goes on really nice. If like me you have any respiratory problems - think twice - make sure the ventilation is OK

It gives a good spray, better than I expected, but if you dwell on a spot too long it can run although it is very forgiving and can be wiped off with a damp cloth quite easily.

2 applications are recommended for shower areas

it dries clear with no indication of where it was applied. even where I had cleaned up a few runs - as to it's performance only time will tell

if you are just vsealing the grout you can do this when the grout is wet also.so no time wasted waiting on grout drying.I have used this product a few times.

seal guard instructions........

Penetrating Sealer for Grout, Tile And Masonry- Quick Drying Impregnator in liquid form using same formulation as award-winning aerosol. Suitable for all types of tile and masonry surfaces, including grout (damp/wet or dry), quarry tile, sandstone, terra cotta, limestone, stucco, concrete, porcelain, marble and granite. Helps protect treated surface against oil and water-based stains.
Installation:
Use as is. Test in obscure area to determine suitability for the intended use. Surface should be clean, dry, and free from any waxes, coatings, finishes or grouting materials. Protect any painted or stained surface adjacent to application area. Apply to surface in a thin, even coat with a pump or airless sprayer, brush, rag, mop or roller. One coat is normally sufficient, but a second application is recommended on more porous surfaces, i.e. terra cotta and sandstone, or heavy walkway areas to ensure complete protection. Allow twenty minutes between coats. Drying and curing time on a treated surface is approximately 2 l/2 hours, but for optimum results, the treated area should be kept dry and free from soils for at least 24 hours.

Note: On highly polished surfaces, such as porcelain, marble or granite, two coats are recommended. On small areas, buff off before the second coat is dry. For larger areas, let it dry and cure for 24 hours. If necessary, any excess can be easily removed with a damp cloth or buff off.

Pre-Grout Sealer/Grout Release.
Sure Seal can be used as a grout release prior to grouting to prevent grout stains and facilitate grout cleanup on porcelain tiles or other porous tiles.

Maintenance:
To clean treated areas, simply use water and mild detergent. There is no need to use harsh cleaning agents such as abrasive powders, ammonia, acids or bleach.
