Sealant

What sealant do you guys use with stone? Need to seal a cast resin tray against ceramic on one wall and stone mosaic on another.

I generally use 785 everywhere but not sure if this will be ok with a stone product.

I take sealant with stone as stone sealer

Always use a silicone that is suitable for use with stone ..

I love 785 great stuff, not sure on stone though. I would say it should be ok but call technical and they will tell you. I normally go with the bal micromax range when I'm using stone as I usually grout and seal with the same colour so I have to buy it anyway and it's good with stone.

Also have a problem with colours, bloody customers! Tray is white, stone is, well stone colour!! (limestone). and the ceramic is brown with brown grout. Would prefer to go clear sealant all round but its a question of finding the right one. Ill give Dow technical a call in the morning.

Do Bal do Micromax in clear? Never used it!

Hi sorry been down the pub for a couple tonight. No clear just colours and white. I reckon dow would be fine but best to check. I would be interested myself with the answer.

Dow do a clear acid free silicone, that glass companies use for sticking mirrors up... Not 100% sure you can use it for bathrooms, but can't really see why not!?!

Bal dont make a suitable product, neither do Webber. Mapei do but of the only two places close to me that do it, (both Tile Giant's), one can't get it untill Tuesday, the other tell me that Mapei dont make what Im after........

Dow may make a product but havent ohones them yet. Have searched the web site but cant find anything.

Im fast running out of options fella's! Surely someone here has used a sealant against a natural stone?

Did bal say which part it was not compatable with?

They dont make a neutral cure silicone, so they have nothing that works with stone. Webber are in the same boat.

I'd like to think their stone coloured silicone's are neutral curing, surely!?! I know i struggled to find clear, and only came across the Dow one. Wasn't sure if not being sanitary grade was a problem though.. Still a little confused on the difference lol!?!
