Time's Ran Out

Mix it a bag at a time with either the latex bottle or the equivalent amount of water as stated on the bag.
Let it stand for a few minutes and remix and spread straight away.
Don't forget to work towards the door and if you use a mechanical mixer make sure you use a decent size tub for the 30kg it will make up.
If its going over UFH mats Mapei fibreplan is a good product.

Hi L5
I use a lot of Mapei latex plan trade which is a 2 part i get for around £12.50-great value.
I always mix 2 tubs together and work from a corner as when you start pouring you need to keep the edges wet.
Hard to explain but dont pour left to right but more around all the compound to keep the edges fresh when i get about half way through the second tub then i quickly mix up the next tub then back to finishing the second tub.Quick mix again then on with pouring the third tub.
Once again pouring first where the compound has been down the longest.
If a big area even worth trying to get somebody tgive you a hand mixing while you pour

I just done some self levelling compound for a job I'm doing for myself. Never done SLC before myself although seen loads of it done. I managed quite easily to handle 1 bag at a time mixed up using a drill mounted mixer. Did 3 bags varying from about 3mm up to 8mm in about 1 hour plus cleanup time. I did not bother cleaning the bucket and the mixer after each batch but I would advise doing so. I now need to prime the top and put another 3 bags worth over the top to bring it up to the desired level. I would go for two bags worth in terms of time but wouldn't be able to lift the bucket to pour it into place so stick to 1 bag at a time.

As everyone has already said, mix one bag at a time if you are working on your own - more if you have more hands around. A spiked roller is a must (IMO) to both get rid of any trapped air as well as to spread it around a bit more easily and a steel float on a stick so you can reach the parts that other floats can't get at! That should stop you suffering from dips in level where you pour your next mix. Oh, yes - and a Charles Atlas body-building course should come in handy as well!
