I have a bath wall that is 1.9 mtrs wide. The bath that I have fitted is 1500 long and the taps are on the long side in the centre. My question is would you centre on the wall or centre on the tap. I have done a rough check and if I centre on the tap, at the shower end I have nearly a full tile but at the other end of the wall I will have about half a tile.

There are two centres. Either mark the wall and start from the mark, or mark the wall, mark the centre of the top of the tile, and put the two marks together.

Can you not centre the bath to the wall so that everything will be equal ? if not then I would be tempted to go centre of tile to the taps to leave cuts at both sides and not making in obvious, if I've understood you right.

Are you building a shelf at one end of the bath?
I would probably center the wall myself.

Either a full tile or a grout line centred behind the taps as this is a focal point. As Alan P says, why is the bath not going central and what is going in the 400mm gap?

This is a small bathroom so centering the bath on the wall would not look good since the shower is at the end of the bath where most taps are fitted. The 400 gap will have a washing basket or something. I thought centering on the taps would be a good option. I thought someone might have a picture to show how it could look.

Intresing point my taps are the opposite end to the shower always made sence to me

Centre of taps for me but always make sure there are no silly cuts either end

with the 400mm shelf at one end (opposite to shower) 1st choice, center tile on taps (either grout line inbetween taps, or tile centre is equal distence to taps)only if it doesn't leave a small cut at either end, else centre on wall.
