Hello again, which adhesive should i use for 250x200 ceramic tiles in a shower enclosure, walls are a mixture of green plasterboard and knauff aquapanel, should i prime/bond any surface.? The shower is in a 1 bedroom flat which may be rented out in the future, I was going to use white star and as i am aware i do not need to prime the aquapanel or the moisture resistant plasterboard. would it be wiser to use a Spf addy and if so which primer what would be the ideal trowel to use .? i and cutting a niche shelf into the stud wall lining it with aquapanel or marmox board depends what off cuts i have, instead of using tiling trim to edge the niche i was going to use glass mosaics to line the inner shelf walls as they have a finished edge, should i use a different addy for the mosaics.? and any other tips for this kind of job. will post some pics next weekend when finished etc..cheers. p.s there are some pics of my last bathroom with grey 600x300 porcelain that you guys helped me out with.take a look and feel free to leave constructive criticism.......

keep up the good work all. :hurray:

Hi Gazebo, White Star would be fine but it may take a little longer to dry with those size tiles. A single part flex would be my choice but you then need to prime the plasterboard with an acrylic primer. if you are going to be using glass mosaics in any great quantity then you would do no better than using BAL mosaic fix for averything as it is brilliant stuff, though a tad expensive. it has about 5 or 6 hours bucket life so you don't need to rush. You can grout next day.

I have a BAL thin bed/solid bed trowel and I would be using that. If you don't have one of those then either a 6 or 8mm depending how flat the surface and the tiles are. What you need to do is fix some tiles with your chosen trowel (try 6mm first) and then lift the tiles to see what coverage you get. you should aim for 100% coverage in wet areas.

I don't know how much you can get mosaic fix for but I get it for around £21 + vat for a 20kg bag.
