I am fitting a new shower enclosure in my ensuite I have ripped out the old leaking shower tray and removed all the old tiles and repaired the plaster that came off with the tiles:mad2: .

After reading several posts on here and with helpful advice from my local CTD I am about to tank the shower area with Ardex wpc, but I am not sure how I should secure the shower tray, I bought it from my local plumbing shop it is an easy plumb stone resin quadrant tray that has five adjustable legs similar to the legs fitted to kitchen units, I have put two horizontal batons on the walls and some 2x2 wooden blocks under the tray to help support it, although the tray feels secure I don’t think this is enough to stop the tray from moving and breaking any seals I put between the walls and tray.

I would be grateful for any suggestions you may have.

I never trust these trays that sit on legs...my bro fits bathrooms etc for a living and he always sits them on a 18mm plywood platform( which is screwed to the floor) and beds it in using a flexible adhesive...it never moves then......just a thought...some trays you can fit directly onto the floor itself , just depends upon the drain and joist set out.....

put your battens on the wall where the tray will sit,
tank the walls down and onto the battens,
put the tray in place and adjust the feet,
use a good quality Silicon to glue the tray to the wall and create a watertight barrier.
tile the enclosure and then Silicon again........

take the legs off put the tray on 18mm ply cut the ply to the shape then build a frame and suport the centre for the tray to sit on screw it all together and screw it to the floor then fit the tray using Silicon under the tray and from the tray to the wall then let it set for 12 hours tile the walls grout then seal with Silicon to finish
