i got my brand new sigma and a brand new rubi wall trowel stole today one site in edinburgh said to the site agent and he said cant do anything about it because it wasnt in a lock box i was like i was out for 10 mins to get my tea:mad2:

Sorry to hear that, I have only had this happen to me once and thankfully I had it all put on the site insurance, since then I am so careful. Unfortunately people can be that despicable.

I assume there's no CCTV in the site/area that can be watched? Thieves should have their hands removed.

the person who stole any tools is sick.never happened to me but my mate plumber had to pay for dewalt screw gun stolen of him. was worth £300 as it was his employer's tool.:incazzato:

I think we should all look out for each other, if I was offered tiling tools at a cheap price, I would be suspicious, these low lives thrive on people thinking they are getting a good deal. But at the expense of a hard working person, makes my blood boil:mad2:

Now i'm thinking- i have my sigma 10M and 3D sitting on a big job and my 3B on another job but its safe and i'm back there at half eight in the morning.

Reminds me of a site I worked on in Farnborough a couple of years back, if it wasn't bolted down it went missing. Every day there was another story of something getting nicked! Scum, the lot of them!!

That reminds me of something Saad from Egypt told me - in Egypt they don't chop of thieves hands any more, thankfully, but if anyone is seen in town or on the bus or anywhere really to steal something, they just holler out Thief! Thief! (Forgotten the Egyptian word for it) and it's basically a signal for all the guys around to stop the guy, retrieve whatever and give him a good hiding! :lol: Just a bit tough if someone just doesn't like you...

Its a sickener Tom, the last job i worked on in Edinburgh i had a brand new Bosch grinder nicked.

Also had a load of gear nicked on the Hilton Aviemore, the maintenance guy came round and we got chatting he wanted to know what tools he needed to tile a bathroom, so i listed them all, the next morning you guessed it, all said tools were gone, i thought it was a wind up, sickening
Its funny i was slagging off 1 of the guys for having a filthy cutter caked in adhesive, he said well no-one wants to steal a cutter caked in adhesive, well he was right there
