Silicon basin pedestal to floor?

Do you guys always Silicon around the basin pedestal on the floor like you would a toilet?

I've done it both ways and can't help thinking it looks better without. Discuss.

I'm thinking the same way as you Bob, but I always put clear silicon around bottom of toilets

Not usually my job!
Always leave it up to the plumber.
But if we were responsible for doing the whole contract then I'd specify both pedestal and pan were finished with Silicon.

The plumbers I work with hate siliconing. To me it is an art form (really), and if it is done badly then it can spoil the whole finish. I prefer to mask it all and get perfect straight edges every time. Funnily enough, the customers always ask how I get my silicon spot on as when they do it, it ends up everywhere!!!

Always Silicon.
Sometimes can look better with colour matching the floor rather than suite.

Usually white Silicon. Maybe clear if the tiles are heavily textured.
