Whoch is the best sealer/protector for slate floor tiles please..? Is there a specific brand which beats all others..?

I use LTP iron wax satin personally as it gives a great finish. Iron wax gloss is a bit too shiney unless that is the look you desire

Just a 'natural finish' if there is such a thing.....

You could use Lithofin MN Stain-stop.

There sure is , make sure the slate is clean and then seal with Fila w68 , this is a water based sealer and leaves it looking natural , the above sealer stain stop can darken slate .. but w68 will not , one coat before grouting and one after... very good sealer ..
