Slate floor

Just got a Slate floor. the Slate provided is a job lot but looking quite nice. It comes in 2 sizes 1.05 x 0.30 and 0.51 x 0.30. They vary in thickness between 10mm and 15 mm.

I was considering cutting some into free length size so as to break away from the 2 size pattern ?
Anyone got photos of such a floor ?

What about just mixed random set..?... but sizing as you say would look great IMO..

I just thought with only 2 sizes it would start to look a bit repetitive . It wouldn't take long to slice a few up into a few more random sizes and it also tends to look better when working around obstacles .
Looking forward to doing this one...and the other 4 Barn conversions with it !

This isn't a floor of mine, pic off the interweb. I agree that 4 sizes of random length would look good, chop some of the 1.05 long ones into 75 and 30 cm bits (or something like that) that would give you, 30,50,75 and 105 lengths.

I agree , bespoke them and it would look better.. look forward to the pics..


You could bespoke them to size as you tile as well.. so cut to suit if you get what i mean.
