Ok lads, sorry to bring up slate floors again but,i've just about finished laying this floor, and now i realize i hate F*****G slate. it's SH*TE. if i never see another F*****G slate tile in my life it will be too soon. i've got grout lines from about 3mm to about 8mm, i've got tiles up to 4mm bigger than others, tiles that have been cut off square. I expected thickness variation, but not all this. i hate f*****g, sh****ng, w*****g slate, please exuse the french. Is all slate like this?, im really not happy with this job, i just cant get a good grout line at all.

this stuff came from the net, it came in plain white boxes, no makers name or anything, i thought that was a bit strange.

thought i would try to upload some pics of job so far.

Where in Fife are you Eddie?

Whenver I do slate I always try and lay it brickbond in order to minimise the grout line variations. Not much use to you I know, or if the customer doesn't want it but its useful to know. You'll be amazed at how different it looks once it is grouted. As somebody much wiser than me on here said Grout hides a multitude of sins.

The customer will see what they want to see. A good job. Remember we are our own harshest critics
