Slate patio advice

Morning all,

Looking at doing a slate patio we already have a solid concrete base, I ve been looking at different tiles some are thicker then others is 10mm Indian slate tiles ok for laying as a patio ?

should be. i'm just doing one myself, laying onto screed, and will give it 2 coats of ltp mattstone

they're between 10 and 15mm, they're supposed to be calibrated, but vary quite a lot. i'm going to grout them with a new grout that i saw at the stone show, if i can find out where to get it.

i spoke to the guy from the stone show on the phone today, and i may have a problem getting it around here, as the only place that is going to stock it near me in sevenoaks, haven't got it in yet. it's very new here, and i think i may have to wait to get some. as soon as i do though, i'll put some pics up and a few words about how i found it too.
