SLC dam and Primer

Quick couple of questions

1) i need to construct a makeshift perimeter dam to contain my SLC, will a cheap Silicon caulk be ok to run all the way round the room and will it peel off the set SLC?

2) the SLC is going on to insulation board and the boards need priming - i have a bottle of benfer primer and also some of this -FastHeat | thermal floor primer | underfloor heating which should i use to prime the boards. p.s. i'm using mapei renovation screed.

Q 1, caulking will be fine depending how deep the slc will be...

1) SLC 5mm

2) extruded polystyrene boards

Foam or cement faced ones slc will be fine, never primed though.

So just tip out the SLC straight on to the xps an UHF mats and jobs a good 'un?

Just make sure all joints in boards have no areas that the slc can leak away....

boards are lightly butted together and the hairline gaps are mostly full of adhesive, it's just the perimeter I need to watch.

Even use odd bits of the insulation boards for damming it out stuck down with caulking.....
