SLC prefrences

So whats your prefered SLC on timber over UFH say?

Havent used Ardex for a while any opinions?

Tend to stick to Nicobond or Weber these days.

I use a lot of the Larsen SLC and think its brilliant and a great price but I dont think many places in england do it?

No mate it isnt. The old Mapei Latexplan Trade I use to use was 2 part and was good too, but not as easy flowing I found.

Do you prefer the 2 part slc's then?

I predominantly use the Mapei Renovation Screed now. I can get it from Tile Giant for around £9 per unit less than Ardex NA, it is a single part fibre re-inforced leveller that really works. I find it really easy to use and get great results with it so it ticks my box.

Used the Latexplan a few times years ago.

I like the Weber floor flex fibre stuff, but the Flooring company I do work for prefer 2 part stuff usally Screedmaster 2 gets it from MCD good stuff about 12 quid a unit

I now have to order in the Ren Screed from my local Tile Giant whereas I could get the Latexplan off the shelf. I am saving with the Ren.Screed though so dont mind waiting. Still use Latexplan if caught out by last minute job or change of spec.

Correct me if im wrong wasnt there a Mapei 2 part addy that could be used as an SLC or was that Latexplan? sorry been a while since I used anything Mapei.

The Mapei SLC are very every good if you can get it easily then use it, I find it as a pig to get my hands on and the Larsen I can take off the shelf and IMO, is a brilliant SLC. Unfortunately their adhesives are not a patch on the Mapei gear but it is a fraction of the price. The standard if good but their rapid is very very very rapid, fine for repairs and what not but wouldn't go over to them for everything.

'Level it one' by Ultra for me, requires minimal troweling and can go down from 3-50mm in one hit. Decent price for the quality.

My supplier stocks Mapei renovation screed slc.. it is a great slc... but if i had a choice then it would be weber floor flex slc... flows better and has a nicer surface finish..

Weber floor Flex, from their info "The minimum application thickness for wooden substrates is 10 mm."

Still think the Mapei Fibre Plan is the thickest and smoothest and most expensive! But excellent for UFH.

Where do you get it from mate? Topps is £16 as you say, would be nice to get it a bit cheaper.

Where do you get it from mate? Topps is £16 as you say, would be nice to get it a bit cheaper.
