I am in Stockport near Manchester. We had snow 15 miles away yesterday.....back to the good old days, snow before Christmas.

Looks great for the first day, after that everyone wants it gone.:lol:

Very rarely where I am. Ayr and Prestwick is on the coast and is a small weather phenomenum where we rarely get snow or fog at all. Prestwick Airport was initially located here for that reason. Prior to the technology there is now on aircraft there was frequently aircraft diverted here when the rest of the country was fogbound. In fact sometimes it was the only airport not fogbound.

The most snow we might get is one fall per winter and that will be gone within a few hours. If you go 10 miles inland there might be snow or fog like anywhere else. So last winter was a real shocker as we were as iced up as anywhere.

I think Russ must live nearish you then (grumpygrouter) as he says he's got a bit of a mini-climate going on where their weather acts different to the rest of us. Can't remember his exact words but it was something like that.

I am working out in the Dales, so i do hope the snow naffs off.. 5 mile from where i was today, the road was not passable due to snow.. mmm

If we all drifted and powerslided around we're warm out tyres up a bit and flirt the snow to the side of the road, not sure passers by would be appreciative though. It'd knock socks off the old splash-em-with-a-puddle trick would a knock-em-out-with-a-ton-of-snow trick.

Love the snow..... Can't get enough of it. This was the road to my house and was only usable if you had a 4x4 and was like this for weeks.
