Is it snowing anywhere else?

Put the winter tyres on about one month ago. Had snow on and off over here since late oktober. Had a fairly major snow storm about 2 weeks ago, which caused some disruptions. At the moment, it's fairly warm, around 0deg c, and most of the snow is gone for the moment. Atleast where I live.

sWe, I was just about to comment about where could you possibly be living to need winter tyres on, and then I looked and realised where you're located!

And it's fairly warm where you are! Ha ha! Warmer than the Midlands this morning...

Yupp. At the moment ;) I remember when I was a kid, waiting for the school bus in january. It was so cold, my nose hair turned into icicles, and if I spat on the ground, the spit had more or less turned to ice before hitting the ground  Twas fun building snow castles though. Ever built a two storey snow house? :)

OMG! Snow castles and two storey snow houses? Never had enough snow for that

I was two years old the last time we had so much snow we didn't know what to do with it.

In the city I live in, there are alot of communal playgrounds, and most of the larger ones, and some of the smaller ones, have little ski/bobsleigh slopes. I live within walking distance of four such playgrounds+slopes.
There are also about seven or eight communal tennis courts, which double as ice skating rinks in the winter, within 10 minutes walking distance. There are also alot of football fields. I live within walking distance of five small ones, and atleast two full sized ones.
The city's jogging tracks, which are quite a few, double as skiing tracks in the winter. I live within walking distance of atleast four tracks, of which atleast one is longer than 10km.

There's been some effort to preserve wooded areas within the city limits, so alot of pre-scools and schools regularly take the kids on mini hikes for half a day or a day.

The population density in Sweden is, on average, 20 people per km2, so there's little reason to build densly over here :)

We have something called "allemansrätten", which loosely translated means "everyman's right". It's a law which grants a limited right to transverse and stay on private grounds, such as many woods and fields, without permission from the land owner, as long as you don't negatively affect the area, such as littering and such. In other words, freedom to roam.
