hello,
First job of tiling my en-suite is going ok.took over 7 hours to get floor tiles off with a hilti tango drill!!give you guys a pat on the back.That is tuff work
Tiles round the old shower popped of easy?leaving as new plaster


Apart from the bottam were the tray meets the wall,there must off been a little hole and its got damp.whats the best way to sort it.
do i need to cut out the section and replace with aqua board or simliar?
any ideas would be great

i think you mean kango not tango :lol: . yes, you need to replace the damaged area with plasterboard or aquapanel. you need to 'tank' the shower area with a waterproof membrane, (the kits are available from the tile shops) to prevent any future leaks from damaging the substrate again

tango:dunce2: Yeah i brought mapei's kit for the tanking,would i just dab on the plasterboard/aquapanel as im sure the rest off the room is.not sure what its like behind the tray which was not coming out.so i thought i would leave it and have a go in the morning.any tips on getting these out or is a case of getting the persuading tools out.

what are you trying to get out? the tray? unless you're changing it you're better off leaving it in. i bet it's stuck down to the wood and the wood stuck to the floor. you'd probably damage it getting it out

Yes i ve got a new slim line tray to put in with all the pipe work under the floor(plumber doing that)so its out with the tray

probably easiest way is to smash it. like i said, it's probably all stuck together
