Solid plyed-out floor, not level!

A builder has prepped a floor for me (customer got him in) - I told him 18mm min ply screwed down every foot with 2mm expansion gaps.

Went to view it today, prior to floor tiling next week. Floor is solid, no play anywhere, but, there is a large (7mm) variation in overall floor level - sort of slopes away into one corner. Would appreciate some advice on any steps I can/should take prior to floor tiling to right these level diecrepancies.

You could use a latex leveller but as long as its flat then it will be ok if its only 7mm out..............dave....

Just straight on top, using the adhesive to get me level? (nice and easy - wahey) Thought I'd have to use some sort of levelling compound to get it spot on but didn't know if any levelling compounds could go down on top of ply.

Yes there are various levellers suitable for ply...i use arditex if i need to but bal do one as well but a bit more pricey than the arditex......BAL Multibase

Sorry Dave (& Clays), its Sunday and I'm tired and panic stricken (first floor tiling job). Thing is, its not abasolutely flat, at some of the ply joints there are steps - up and down - only very small ones but they are there.

just use a 10mm notched solid bed trowel and all will be fine....dont panic mate.....post us some pics in the gallery when done zooney mate........good luck..............dave..

Would be easier zooney mate to level any indiscretions in the floor with your flexi adhesive ..just float out the lips on the ply with adhesive..muck quicker and cheaper than using leveller.......dave..


p.s...make sure you prime first....

Righto Dave, I see. Thanks my friend, saved me a few quid - well my customer in the long run! - but I'm sure they'll be grateful not to have to pay for the leveller and my time putting it down.

Will post some pics on completion.
