some pictures of my first time tiling

this is the first time iv tiled its took a long time didnt relize how much work was involved in tiling thanks to the forum on all the tips

the picture with the bath has a 2 inch gap to the tile should i cut a 2inch tile to fit the gap or will it look daft or is there a way i could raise the bath up
will post some more pic when iv finished

hi looks tidy recomend you lift bath somehow as cuts over bath are a eye sore has the bath got its own front panel:8:

good job on the tiling. As for the bath just place some 2 x 3 under the legs then use the adjusters to level to the tiles leaving a 2mm gap, and when siliconing fill bath first. ok

yes the bath has a front panel ..if i raise the bath it will leave me with a problem with the gap from the bottom of the bath panel to the floor

you could build a pedastall or plinth under bath and make it work as a step fully tiled of course:8:

nice work but would consider sorting out the floor before you adjust the bath,the idea of raising the bath with a step is a great idea jay

nice idea the problem is the bath sits next to the doorway and i was going to have the door opening to the bath as the the bathroom is small 7foot by 5foot this is a pic to show how close the bath is to the door

see what you mean,however i would still sort out those floorboards and ply the floor before continuing with the walls as your bath may raise up in height!

make a gentle curve door jamb to opposite side of bath (small step):8: but as david said sort floor 1st

Just cut it in as it is....or the bath panel will not fit and lifting it will cause you more work for a newbie....looks well though ....what size joints have you, they kind of tight..?

hi dave the grout lines are 2mm.. joint lines are 2mm some bits are 3mm my mesuring lol
i overlaped the tiles

so all in all excellent job for your first go..i have seen long timers turn worse out...

Why not rase the floor with 1/2" marine ply you'll need 4 sheets, this would rase the bath by 2", and sort the floor out, you'll have to trim the door, or use 3 sheets, and tile the floor to make up the difference?

why not rase the whole floor, if you're going to tile the floor,use 3 sheets of 1/2" marine ply, and make the rest up with tile and adhesive, this will bring the bath up to the required hight, you would have to trim the door, or do you have enough room in the hall to reverse hinge the door to open out the way?
