Whe I moved here I had to get an NICEIC cert on my flat before I rented it out, would've failed as I had a non IP rated downlight in the bathroom but while the bloke was there I changed to an enclosed IP rated fitting, thank you very much. But here you can have not 1 but 2 DSO's, one eack side of the sink! Shocking! Considering how bizarre the rules are here for wetrooms I thought this was a bit stupid but it's all above board, they must have a hell of a lot of faith in RCD's. Just before I moved here I got talking to a Brit builder in an English pub telling him what tools I was bringing, I was very proud of my 110 collection. He didn't have a clue what I was on about. It's all 240 here, glad I found out before I shipped it over, sold it all to a George Wimpey apprentice and his Dad. By the way we didn't tile this wetroom, wish I could say we did, it was a very nice job, we were installing a wood oven, boss wants to take company in new direction so hopefully it'll work out and I can chuck all my tiling tools in the Oslo Fjord...

So it's not one of the Mr Mens houses? Specifically Mr Small
It might as well be, another thing I noticed was he had 2m23 from floor to ceiling in the (at a guess) 40odd sqm lounge, and the rules here is you must have 2m40 floor to ceiling for it to ba classed on living space, and they're quite strict about it, he dropped the ceiling for his downlights which look great but as dwellings are valued on square meterage as a main part of valuation he has more than likely shot himself in the foot.

I would say it's a no no on the power outlets, to close to water IMO.. can't remember the min zone for power to water etc but from what i have gained with working with comps and my bro, is that deffo looks to be to close., even if they are low power output i would have thought they would be higher away from a wet source.
I was always told 6 foot, you shouldn't be able to put your hand in water and be able to touch an electrical accessory, but as for true rules I don't know either, I just think what they get away with here as the norm is dangerous and there's no need for it, it's not rocket science, everybody knows water and electrics don't mix well, I've learnt that living in a foriegn country it's a good idea to keep schtum and let them get on with it, if I want a sensible conversation I come on here and talk to you lot
