Right guys, especially @MissTiler went to see a customer today. They are having a steam/wetroom off the main bathroom area. The area is approx 2m x 0.8m. It has a seat at one end with a fixed glass panel and a hinged door at the opposite end that will be bespoke made to suit the opening.

I have a couple of questions that I just need clarification on:-

1) The walls and seat as you can see in the pics have already been built but they have used 12mm Glasroc H which is moisture proof and states can be used for wetrooms. Has anybody used this before and is it suitable for a steam room?

2) The tray is an AKW Medicare TUFF FORM tray 1400x800, and is completely smooth and shiny. The recommended tanking system is FORMSAFE and for a 5m tanking kit costs £171 retail (ouch) and it is a self adhesive membrane system. Is anybody familiar with this system and would it be acceptable to mix the taming systems as I need probably need 4 of them? Meaning could I just use the membrane over the tray and then my normal tanking system on walls, seat and main floor area?

Hi John
I would line the walls with kerdi ds it is a vapour barrier and is suitable for steam rooms , I am not familiar with the wet floor former but from the pictures it looks good I would want to put a kerb in the threshold looks like the former has a clamping ring so you may want to run the kerdi ds over the former too

There will be a solid glass panel Gary and a hinged door with seals so that water cannot escape out, although I will point this out and see if it's something the client would be willing to have, they ideally want a level floor straight through
