Strangest way to get a quote!!

My cousin phoned me last night asking could i do a quote for a woman. Bit weird so this is how a little of the conversation went:

"can you do a quote for a woman"

"No probs what does she want doing?"

"no idea"

"whats her number?"

"no idea but i gave her your mobile"

ANYWAY it turns out my cousin has been chatting to a girl on a chat site, she moaned her feet were cold as the floor is just concrete as the tiles are not down yet in the conservatory as the tiler didn't turn up.

Low and behold 30 mins later my mobile rang and it is the girls mum. Just had a large extension done, needs floor in conservatory, kitchen and kitchen walls doing. Tiler the builder organised didn't turn up yesterday so she has said that even he makes an appearance today she will turn him away, doesn't appreciate being let down without even as much as a phone call.
Joked that i should bring all my tools with me when i price up as it needs doing asap

Job is only 4 miles from where i live so fingers crossed.
Strange things happen.

Some people haven't a clue. One of my clients rang today and asked if I would be interesting in a kitchen fit and tiling for a friends of his who was complaining that it was going to cost him more than the cost of the kitchen to have it installed by the suppliers. Never one to turn a chance down I said I would and asked where he lived - Surrey - 200 miles away.

Well i got it and more than i thought

In total:

32sqm Conservatory

21sqm Kitchen floor

7sqm splash back

7sqm wet room floor (walls done already by builder, looks an eye sore)

24sqm front room

Also by the time the work is done she wants me to do an upstairs bathroom (not yet looked at it yet as her son was in the bath )

Gave her a price with labour and materials and she is more than happy, start Tuesday

Walked out with a chunk of money as a deposit that she wanted to pay, (didn't even ask for it, never do, but it will more than cover the materials).

I can phone the mortgage company on Monday and tell them not to bother sending the mortgage advisor around as i will be making a payment very soon (thats how bad it has been).

Over the moon, sat here with a can and i will sleep well tonight
