straw walls

on a job at the mo and the walls are a bit shoddy so i want to reboard with plaster board apart from shower area but the walls are stramit. Theres no studs to screw boards in to are they ok just to screw in to i've never come across them before i just though they was studded.

I've had to deal with this situation once and I stuck hardie with SPF then plugged and screwed with added washers.

why did they ever use this stuff didnt the 3 pigs blow the straw house down did they not learn from that.

Fire hazard nowadays, no way would it pass building regs.

Just be careful when drilling through into that stuff!
Don't go too fast and always put drill into reverse when removing - the straw can end up getting caught up in the drill and you can end up really damaging the wall.

Also, the walls are only a couple of inches thick so, don't use a long drill bit or screws, otherwise you'll be into the next room :lol:

they are faced with plasterboard can i not dot and dab? really need a fast solution i've not got time to mess about got to much on.

You'll need to overboard it mate, p/board or hardie plugged and screwed, 'tis the only way.
