Taking workman to court

Hi

We have had some problems with the quality of work undertaken for us by a tiler and want to know what is the best process to take him to court to recover the costs of getting the job done properly, unfortunately he has already been paid. Is there a professional association we can use to get an independant report for use in court - we have a new tiler lined up to do the work again but clearly any report he writes could be seen as biased.

First off, you need to give the original tiler a chance to correct any problems you may have.....

Yes you could try the TTA For tiles, tilers, tiling and the tiles industry: The Tile Association
But be prepared for a high cost.

I have pics but dont want to post here. The workmen have been in to "sort it out" and have failed.

Without knowing what the issues are, we cant really assist. You could try an indepenant tiler but whether it would add any weight to your argument would remain to be seen in law.

why did you pay them, if you were not happy with the tiling?

went to court as a expert witness last year without seeing the original job but because it was unsafe it wasent a problem he won hands down not sure he got his money back
