Hi All,
Newbie to the site and like to do things properly, I haveread a lot of valuable posts on here and have a few questions. I am changingthe shower tray/cubicle in my en suite. The reason for this is not due to anyleakage etc its just the builders who fitted it used a tray with a 4 sidedupstand along with the shower cubicle which consisted of a fixed panel on oneside and a door on the other sitting just inside the upstand this has become anabsolutely nightmare to clean and now looks terrible hence for the need tochange. I have removed the old tray and shower and we have opted for a biggershower tray. I have cut out the plaster board and tiles to ceiling on bothsides and was going to aquapanel and tank. My first question is I have readsome conflicting stories about having to skim aquapanel with adhesive beforetanking any advice on this or other board to use other than plasterboard.Second what’s the best tanking system forthese types of board and thirdly is it best to tank the walls right to thefloor then fit tray or fit tray and tank down to tray. The tray instructions Ihave say to push tray to walls and seal gap with silicon, any advice greatlyappreciated and sorry for the long post.
