Tape measure play

Anyone know a tape that doesn't have a little movement in the end metal tab, I always find if you hook it on and measure, it gives a different reading to if you measure from the end!

If i measure metal to the wall and then measure it hooked on the tile i take 1mm off , works every time

The play in the end is designed to take into account the thickness of the metal hook, so when you push against a wall to measure it will transfer the same measurement to whatever your marking when you pull the tape against it.

Little hole in the end is for hooking onto a nail head - apparently!

I find the makita tapes very accurate.

found tapes not accurate enough so now use

Found nylon rule not accurate so I use these..
