Cigs have gone up 5 million pounds a packet. Airtax billions per journey.

If you're mega rich though you don't need to pay as much tax as before.

Beer isn't going up until August though apparently which is a good thing I guess. I can drink myself to sleep at night whilst pegging for a ***.

We loose family allowance, we both pay more tax due to the lowering of the 40% threshold, our Indian takeaway is gonna cost more and the Scottish government have been given more tax raising powers. That's just what I've gleaned from the news so far, but I'm sure there will be more!

It doesn't affect me so I have no equity in it. That said, I did read the link just in case there was something to gloat about. This caught me eye, in the VAT section: "Self-storage, static caravans and hairdressers' chairs will also no longer be exempt".

Ha! You're so easily pushed around in the U.K. Here in Sweden hairdresser's chairs will ALWAYS remain VAT exempt, so help us God, out of our cold, dead hand will they take VAT on hairdresser's chairs!

all of these charges seem so small at the time the politicians announce them ,BUT it's all chipping away at our standard's of living, are we ever going to stand -up to politicians ever again in this country ? or have we completely lost our BALLS lol

Not sure it really affected me significantly. I dont soke, drink didnt really change, i get to keep my child allowance (just), no real income tax changes. What they give me back in personal allowance they will take away in VAT and council tax etc so all in all no significant effect on me at all.......just hope they dot take away disability living allowance for my boy.....
