I don't often wax lyrical about anything but on this occasion I feel I have to. On the recommendation of a friend I decided to purchase an Exakt Saw. I have to say having tested one extensively it is one of the cleverest pieces of kit I have ever used. You can set the depth perfectly and it just eats through grout with no mess and no fuss. I have a Makita Floor Saw with water feed which is brilliant but the advantage of the Exakt is there is absolutely no mess (as long as you have a Henry attached to it of course) and it is so accurate.
For anyone doing more than a couple of re grouts you need one of these they save hours of labour. Make sure of course you buy the professional one of course not the one JML are flogging on the telly.

I know this is an old thread but I've only really considered an Exakt this week. I use a Bosch multi-tool with carbide blade usually for grout removal (and other intricate cutting work on limestone) but have a couple of meaty re-grouts coming up.

So, are they worth the money? Are they easy to use, accurate, chip-free etc etc

I appreciate any guidance on this. The DC 270 is the model i have been looking at. If you have other suggestions then I will be glad to hear them.
