I've just finished a four day 'Tiling Essentials' course here at Stockport. It was the first time I had tiled and we tiled the walls and floor of a small training room, cutting out to go round a window and then doing some decorative stuff on the wall and some diamond tiles on the floor.
I think it was pretty good and has given me some confidence.
On Monday and Tuesday next week I'll be tiling my inlaws' kitchen - about 5 square metres of wall tiles on three walls. I'm nervous but looking forwad to it. It'll be good practice and a bit of cash for me, plus they're getting the job done at a good rate (I'm charging £150 but I'm picking up the adhesive and grout from that aswell).
I really want to do building trades for a living, I studied bricklaying at the DIY school Stockport too and intend to go back to do the advanced tiling (wet rooms and underfloor heating) plus the plastering courses too.
