Muhammad Ali died today..
Growing up in the 70s he was one of the best boxers ever...

I heard on the news last night that he was on life support so wasn't shocked to hear this this morning. Still very sad though, a true legend.

My dad let us get up early to listen to the Sonny Liston v Cassius Clay fight on the radio. My dad went into the kitchen to make a cup of tea, Clay flicked his wrist and Liston went down and the fight was over!
Great memories of both - my dad and Ali.

We were tiling Planet Hollywood restaurant in Leister sq back in the early 90s for diespecker we were standing outside taking a break when a people carrier pulled up and out stepped Muhammed Ali and a Muslim man and they started handing out leaflets on Islam , me and the 2 tilers I was working with walked over and met him and he signed the leaflets shame we didn't have camera phones back then within minutes there was a massive crowd around him
