Hi All
I am doing a kitchen splashback soon.
I had the guy remove the old tiles first but as expected he couldnt get all of the old adhesive off and because a new kitchen had just been fitted he was very reluctant to get the plasterboard replaced.
I recommended he have it skimmed so he did. The plasterer took just over an hour to complete the four walls (pretty quick i think), its not the best job because he knew it was going to be tiled on, but I think the plaster is a bit thin in places. These photos show the walls before skimming, I dont have any after it was done, but if you look at the wall showing the edge of the worktop, the skim coat has been applied flush with the wallpaper. too thin perhaps (1-2mm)??
