thistle bond it?

guys i know paint should be removed from walls before tiling, but what do you think of scoring the wall and then coating with thistle bond it, leaving it for 24 hours then tiling onto it?

personally i wouldnt touch it with a paint pole!

The bonding will only be stuck to the paint. It will be cheaper and a better job to remove the paint

As Mike, scratching the walls will only give you a small amount of hold onto the wall....

Speaking from experience,Bal Whitestar melts BG Bond-It!!

First time I've that....do you mean the green stuff, I've plastered onto it many times and it dos'nt take moisture..

Bond-it doesn't create an impervious barrier to moisture.If you plaster over a tiled wall that has had Bond-it previously applied it has different suction properties(none) compared to a plaster wall that has had Bond-it applied(high)

I've never plastered on tiled walls with bond-it but have on existing plastered walls with bond-it and have'nt noticed any high suction for the new plaster...

Thought bond it was just pva with a bonding style product in it and green colour so u can see where u have put it on , only used it once in plastering, thought it was awful stuff, pva is just as good and cheaper( in plastering )
