All,

Firstly a quick hi, I am new to this forum and would appreciate your help!

I am having a new bathroom fitted and have choosen 10x10 tumbled marble tiles for the shower walls and 30x30 for the bathroom floor. I would really appreciate some help on what grout, adhesive and sealant I should use and the process that I should follow. My husband will be doing the tiling but he hasn't used tumbled marble before. Also I have seen alot of people complaining on the forum about grout changing colour. I was going to go for an ivory grout - do you think this will be an issue?

Thanks

Sam

hi there and:welcome:to the forum
marble tiles should be fine as long as you go through the proper procedures of sealing them before and after grouting, make sure you wipe of any excess cleaner prior to grouting with a clean dry cloth(usually about 20 mins after using the sealer)grout tends to change colour if it is mixed to a runny consistancy or overwashed after grouting, best leaving it till it starts to look a bit like it's setting on the tiles but still removable with a damp sponge,i would also consider removing plasterboard in the bathroom and replacing with aquapanel or cement boards due to the weight of marble!

hope this helps!

Thanks David, any recommendeations on what type of grout I should be using should it be cement based?

would use a flexibe wall grout to make sure you don't scratch the marble! either bal or mapei(personally i prefer the bal ivory)
