Discuss Tile directly on 6mm ply? in the America Tile Forum / Advice Board area at TilersForums.com.

Prime the ply and stick 6mm backer board on top and screw that down, plywood is not suitable to be tiled over.
I would even rip the 6mm ply up and use backer board ,but wrong imo to say ply not suitable ,if you use the right thickness no problem with ply
