Tile over Bitumen/Asphalt tiles ?

Hi All,

New to forum so not sure if posting in right place.

I have been offered a 22 sqm floor job,Substrate is concrete however
there is a black bitumen/Asphalt coating over floor which is the residue
from 60s style vinyl tiles ! Very hard to remove ..Would accrylic sealer
with a fast flex adhesive be suffice ?

Hi Ian, if this is just ATA residue then I would try to remove as much of the (asphalt tile adhesive) ATA ,as poss, then use a slurry bond mix 50/50 SBR + single part cement based adhesive. If you search the forums for similar threads you may get some more suggestions.

Arditex NA straight on top, that will do the trick
