Discuss Tile pattern, French but not the exactly in the Specialist Tile -Stone, Porcelain, Glass area at TilersForums.com.

Hi. Opus ramano pattern or French pattern should work. What makes you say it won’t?
Hi Dave, thanks for the reply.

From what I could gather, French requires some 60x40, 40x40, 40x20 and 20x20cm (approx.) tiles.

The one I'm looking at has 15x15cm 15x30cm 30x30cm 30x60cm (which, compared to
French, is missing the 3:2 aspect ratio tiles).

It looks like Opus Romano also requires the 3:2 aspect ratio tiles.

I'm considering drawing up a random pattern, but I was hoping there was a tried and tested one for these sizes.

The supplier should have a few. When they do mixed sizes they will have a few patterns worked out. I'd first try get the manufacturer to send the supplier their options. Who should then work out quantity for you.

Opus Romano only uses 3 sizes, I think. I had it in my dining room years back, looks lovely, doesn't work if any of the tiles are bowed though. You end up with bits you can trip up on for sure if your tiles aren't all totally flat.

Don't try cut your own up. It hardly ever works out brilliantly when you do that.

Google "3 tile patterns" or 4 if you're stuck on it. Lol
