Tile trim removal?

Just a quick query folks,

Has anyone had any experience of removing tile trim(the trade white plastic kind) from around a window reveal. I have been called to a customers house as they fell out with their tiler over the colour of the trim, they said cream, the tiler used white, blah blah. Not for me to get involved with their beef but they are paying me well if I can change it any ideas. The job was completed only five days ago.

Would have to be a row of tiles removed i think..............

Thats what I thought, I wondered if I could gently tap it off but I reckon that the plastic would not be strong enough.

Some times they can just push out...but not as easy getting the new trim in though...........remove a row of tiles and re-fit....it will allow adjustment on the trims as well......... good luck.......

Hey mate,

this may be a long shot!

why not try and cut the trim with a stanley knife leaving the backing of trim behind the tiles, if this works fine cut the backing of the new trim and fix with a contact adhesive.

this may be worthwile if you and the customer want to avoid removing existing tiles.

if you did this, i WOULD RECCOMEND KEEPING THE BLADE SHARP AS POSSIBLEGO THROUGH 10-20 BLADES IF NEED BE TO KEEP A SMOOTH CUT

I think you would be quicker removing the tiles and then replacing trim...proper job too
