tiled window cill.

Just tiled a window cill with a 20mm overhang was wondering how to keep the grout in the overhang. The customer wanted it done this way.

hold your trowel under the tiles and grout in as normal with your float,hold it there for a minute or two and it should be fine

will the grout not fall out over time I allways use mapai ultracolour plus

I can't really comprehend the issue, but if you are struggling, then I would suggest that you mix the grout slightly stiffer so that it doesn't slump and fall out.

You could fix some stick back plastic under the sill and grout as normal, the plastic wont be seen from above and because its clear it wont be seen from underneath really either, your customer then has the option of peeling it off if he / she wants once the grouts set but personally i'd leave it on.

Piece of card taped in place under the joint...leave to start and harden then remove and touch the bottom in if necassary and it won't budge..ultra colour plus dries hard...and if the grout is compacted in then no probs..

I now comprehend what the initial question was about and can put in place all of your answers, never had to tile a cill with overhang before so didnt get it.

thing is i prefer seals.:hurray: anyone got a ball or some sardines.?:smilewinkgrin::smilewinkgrin:
