Hello Everyone
The open day was hoofing and i would like to thank PCI, CTD and Ecofloor for coming along and providing the demos.
We kicked off proceedings with the under tile heating demo provided by Ian Greenhaugh. Ian has been working alongside the school now since we opened and he is always on hand to give advice and he will also go out on your first under tile heating job once you have left the course as he has done countless times now. And we all know how scary it can be laying down your first mat.
A quick cup of tea and a bit of networking and we got right into the PCI Pecilastic demo. All in all a very good product that will save you time and money in the long run and will also eliminate ugly steps that are unavoidable when using ply. I will be having a go myself in a couple of weeks so I'll keep you posted.
We then cracked on with the HSP 34 leveling compound which is fibre based and is incredibly strong. It is always good for previous course attendees to see this going down with the use of spike rollers and trowels and to note the importance of mixing correctly.
And finally we finished off with the Nanolight demonstration. Anyone who has used this product will agree that it is in a class of its own. This is the second demo that we have had on the Nanolight and we tend to convert people over to this product once they have had a go.
We also had the TI 66 S out for everyone to try and we had the Montolit porcelain (angle grinder) hole cutters which are always good fun to try and people are always surprised how much more control you have with the angle grinder compared to a drill.
Mick from CTD Temple means (Edinburgh) was also at the school getting guys set up with accounts and letting them know about some of the deals going on at the store.
All in all a good day with a lot of relevant questions about the products asked and answered and a great opportunity to do a bit of networking.
Cheers to everyone who came down and we hope to see you at the next open day. As for anyone that missed it make sure you keep logged onto the forum and we will let you know when the next one is.
