Tilers Register

I had a phonecall from a guy today who said he was from the tilers register offering to send me the details of up to 213 potential jobs every month. Apparently they would optimise a web page for me which would appear on the front page of google.

All that for only £300 start up costs and then £60 a month. He seemed surprised when I said no. He said he got my details from findtrustedtradesmen.com. I told him I wanted to look at their website and also ask about it on this forum before I said yes. His response to this was to put the hard sell on. He told me he was working through a list of companies in Edinburgh and that once he had one on board he wouldn't be taking any more on.

Now call me naive but there aint a tiler alive who can complete 213 estimates a month never mind get anywhere near doing this number of jobs. He was either lying about the number of enquiries they get or the number of tilers they are booking in each area.

A word of advice to all who need it. Job fairies don't exist. The only person who can fill your diary is you regardless if you are paying £60 per month to someone else.

Can't understand the logic behind these companies that state "TOP TEN POSITION ON GOOGLE GUARANTEED " what happens if 11 people sign up!

I had a call from these muppets yesterday, put the phone down on them.

They say they only take one trademan from the area for their register, what a load of crock.

These people always crawl out of the woodwork when you start to advertise a business. Everytime I get one of these calls I store the number in my phone with the name COLD CALL. When they ring the call ID says cold call on the screen and I dont need to waste my time answering it.


Find trusted tradesmen and an classified advert on ebay.

Its a good idea to register with TPS Registration
the telephone preference society and opt out of cold calls which gets rid of a good percentage of them. For those that persist just tell them Im registered with the TPS and the call will end incredibly quickly lol.
