Phil, That is a great idea. My original sponges with my KD washboy were very good but the replacements are ok-ish,

I might give that a bash, how do you cut through the sponges to get a good smooth finish for the glue?


Sorry Robson, I think I have made a complete hash of my post. I meant to say I used to like the replacement washboy sponges, as a normal sponge (without the handle), but prior to that I did used to cut the Ardex/Bal type thick sponges in half using a hacksaw to make them easier to use. Sorry for my poor description. It is not easy at my age,:yikes::lol:

I have hunted about for the original sponges i had but i cant find them.

I bought replacements from TT but they are just not the same.
