Hi All,
We have had the kitchen re-tiled about 8 weeks ago and I took the original tiles off - these came away pretty easy (wet plastered walls), we then had somebody in to re-tile and the job was OK - not the best but not the worst. However, because of electrical cabling issues I have had to take some of the tiles off again (a couple of days ago) - for the spark to get to do stuff (part p and all that) - however, it has concerened me at how easy the tiles were to come off - some you could tell the cement was only on a part of the back of the tile - but others which were well covered with the cement left next to nothing on the wall. Some adjoing tiles came away as well.
I was only using a small cold chisel with a plastic mallet.
Somebody has mentioned to me that when the wall was plastered it might of been PVA'd afterwards and this can affect bonding of the cement - is this true. If so, and this is what has happened, what can be done to rectify it??
Cheers
