Having spent a lot of my time finishing my first job, porcerlin tiles on a kitchen floor, I have been informed by the customer that some of them will have to come up as the kitchen fitters have put the kitchen in, 4 inches short on each side of the u shape:huh2: . The customer was very happy with my work and has paid me, but I am not sure of what to recommend as the best way of getting the affected area of tiles up without damaging the rest of the floor. Any suggestions

Alison

You'll first have to rake out the grout around the tiles affected. Then, it's a matter of lifting them. I use an old chisel with a gentle tap of the hammer. Clean up the adhesive on the floor and relay.........good luck.

dont fully understand whatv you mean by u shape but if you did a job and customer is happy then i dont see how this is your problem, make sure you charge for the extra work that you do and dont be taken for a mug!
