Hi, i have recently done the first 2 of 22 kitchen floors (flats). The area totals 8m2 per flat. 1 tile has cracked in each flat, same tile, same place. I have gone back and removed said tiles which revealed cracks in screed. The floor has ufh throughout the kitchen area but stops before a suspended bay window. I noticed that 1/3 of the row of tiles gets warm and the rest does'nt as heating does'nt go into window. I have also noticed that some tiles sound a little hollow near grout gaps, i know this is due to ufh switched on too early.
Upon removing the tiles the addy was almost sandy and soft which makes me believe the heating was switched on too early after tiling. I used granfix 1 part flexi but now foreman appears to be blaming me saying that other tilers on site have said i should have used 2 part instead, which to me is b*****x. I have tiled many, many jobs and nothing like this has ever happened to me before.
I got the job via a kitchen company and was asked to submit a quote (not seen the job until i started) to tile to their spec. I have now told them a ditra mat should have been used (i did'nt quote job or have anything to do with it). The kitchen company have priced the job etc and i just bill them.
Please help because i've just had another day there and have'nt been paid anything yet!
Thanks
