Tilig over york stone flgs

Been to look at a floor today its made up of york stone flags, so it doesn't have a dpm.

TBH I dont know why they want it tiling, as the flags look smashing.

What I'm thinking of doing is coat the flags with a epoxy resin dpm, cover with SLC, and then tile.

Does this sound the right way to go, any advice is appreciated.

16msq approx, and they are all really solid.

Phil, can you not lift the stone? DPM and relay? I hate to hear of a good yorkstone floor being tiled over with crap!

If they are onto earth , then trust me nothing is solid.

No Pebs, they wanted them tiling over, for some reason. but they are onto earth, so I think they will be keeping them.I dont think they could afford the extra cost of removing them, and putting a concrete slab down.

Lift the flags and bung them in the back of the van. Put DPM down and then screed. Then tile onto the screed and use the flags elsewhere (or sell them on)...

With the ground pushing up the screed with crack for sure.....
