Tiling around an access on floor (trap door)

Hi folks, I have a small area inside the front door of my house i would like to tile, It is on two different levels so i would need an edging strip. Another thing is that there is also the access door for turning off stopcock etc and this is also the only underfloor access. How do i finish around this door which is not hinged , only a piece if 18mm floorboard dropped in. The present covering is carpet with a trim piece around it. Also which are the best edging pieces to use? Sorry for the long winded question!!.

You could use a profile like This from Schluter.

also use a trim around the access hatch and tile over the hatch. This way it can still be lifted. Can still give a decent finnish with the right skill and tile

Thanks guys, i could also just fit a small flush handle for lifting it i guess...
