Im used to tiling bathrooms that i have fitted, so i would allow for the height of the tiles and adhesive when fitting the bath, but i have got a job involving three bathrooms for floor tiles, i don't want to cut the bottom of the bath panel because it would leave nothing left to secure it, the alternative is to tile up to the bath panel, then it would be a nightmare to remove at a later date, what would you guys do?

I've tiled up to one with a slight gap, and then trimmed 5mm off the bottom and Silicon well then it's a case of stanley the Silicon to get it off and spend a bit of time getting the Silicon off properly when you come to stick it back on again.

They can be a nightmare thought to be honest. It's almost a case of judging each job on its own in most cases. I've also had to make a few tiled panels before now due to this.

cut it and fix the bottom of the panel behind it or fit blocks for it to sit behind only Silicon the bottom if you have to 😛ete

what tool/saw do you reccomend is best for cutting the plastic bath panels?

Graham

use a sharp stanley knife and take your time making sure your hand doesnt slip, cut the bottom of panel and use blocks behind the panel to affix screws too, then Silicon the bottom of panel to the floor, this will give a good clean finish.Use screw caps to cover screws.
